A fight broke out between a poker dealer and a player at a popular Las Vegas Strip poker room Wednesday evening.
A 42-second video began circulating on social media that showed a player fighting with a dealer in Aria’s poker room. The fight started at a poker table near the dealer box. As others in the room got involved and began separating the two, the dealer got in a couple of blows and the player ran away.
The dealer then chased after the player, who could be seen grabbing a small table to throw before others in the room were able to separate the two.
Shortly after the video went viral, a GoFundMe page was set up for the dealer in the video with a goal of $2,500. At the time of publishing, the page has already raised $5,775.
The page claims that the dealer, who is popular with regular players, was attacked by the player and that he was simply protecting himself. In a Wednesday tweet, Farah Galfond, wife of Phil Galfond and high-stakes crusher in her own right, said that he was berated and attacked. She also added that beer was thrown on him.
The incident may cost the dealer his license.
